W&A present an art-project about religion. The astonishing “business model” of most religions is that they offer a product, “eternal life”, that the buyer cannot verify or consume before the buyer is dead. In this radical way religions have avoided being exposed as fraud. Dead people do not complain. All through history religions have achieved an immense power over people because they claim to have the key to the “after-life”. People’s fear of death is a necessary element in their business model. Therefore the concepts of Hell and Doomsday are just as important for religions as the concept of their excellent product: Paradise.
